Cables & Umbilicals

Our umbilicals are designed to suit dynamic applications in water depths of up to 2,500 meters and are composed of any possible combination of hydraulic lines (thermoplastic hoses or steel alloy tubes), low-voltage electrical control cables, medium-voltage power transmission cores and optical signal components. Our plants are able to supply our umbilicals facility with “in-house” made electrical and optical cores and the high pressure thermoplastic hoses.

Designed and tested to with stand harsh environmental conditions in water dephts as deep as 2,500 meters in both static and dynamic applications, these umbillicals comprise the followinf typical functions :

  • High-pressure hydraulic control hoses;
  • High-pressure chemical injection hoses;
  • Electical control cable (optical fibre control core can be provided as an option, on demand).

Designed for both static and dynamic applications, steel tube umbilicals (STUs) are becoming the preferred solution in many deep-water projects for hydraulic control and chemical injection lines for wellhead control system. The STU technology provides enhanced response times and higher working pressures when compared to more traditional thermoplastic hose based design. The STUs also prevent the permeation of fluids from the tube, particularly with an exellent corrosion resistance. Steel tube umbilicals are designed to operate in the harshest of environments and ultra-deep water applications, at dephts of up 3,000 meters.

  • Low or medium voltage power cores;
  • Optical core.
